as we were approaching our house after our walk today i thought i’d take a shot in the dark and ask bryce if he would take the christmas lights down.

i ran into the house real quick to get a plastic bag and as i walked outside i was greeted with uncontrollable belly laughing from puff. i guess the sight of bryce swinging the lights and jumping to reach without using a latter just cracked her up.

that sound makes my heart sing.

i’m bad, i have completely neglected my blog since blake was born.

that either means i’m a horrible multi-tasker or i’m just a super duper mom and have been so busy doing so many great activities with blake and baking trendy pintrest pies i just had no time... chirp chirp

right now i’m sitting on the couch while bryce watches a debate. {judge me if you will, but my attention tends to wander elsewhere when the debates come on t.v} i’ve been going through all of my pictures that i haven’t been showing on the blog, wondering where this year has gone and also feeling so blessed for the year our little family has had.

we have moved states

had a baby

traveled to oregon with a 2 month old

had a few hospital stays {on my part, as usual}

gone on a cruise

functioned {kinda} on no sleep

witnessed the birth of our best friends baby

taught a class of 4 year olds on sundays

bought a home

traveled to fresno a few times

got our child to sleep for 12 hours

high fived over poopy diapers and new teeth

had our world turned upside down

i would say all in all 2011 has been a wonderful year in the henderson home.

somehow while all of that business was going on, my little love puff went from this

last week bryce and i celebrated our 4 year anniversary

i could write pages and pages of mushy gushy lovey dovey things about how much i love that boy

i really could

he is the peanut butter to my jelly

the ketchup on my fries

he’s my best friend still gives me butterflies

our first anniversary bryce surprised me with a romantic getaway to a hotel in scottsdale for the weekend.

he called my boss and got my day covered, i woke up ready to go to work and he told me i wasn’t going in and he had the whole weekend planned out for us

our second anniversary was spent together in a hospital bed after i was diagnosed with blood clots in both of my lungs

he held me night after night while i cried, being poked and prodded by nurses and doctors

everyday he was my rock and assured me that everything would be alright

our third year we celebrated our anniversary with dinner and gifts, but mostly we celebrated finding out a few weeks before that i was finally pregnant with our sweet girl blake

this year has topped them all

{especially our second anniversary, duh}

bryce woke up in the morning with blake so i could sleep in

we met for lunch at one of my favorite restaurants

we took our time talking and swooning over how stinking cute our baby is

i got to play with love puff all day and then my bryce came home and took me to get some sushi

mmmmm....sushi

every year it seems our lives change so much but our bond grows stronger and stronger

bryce has been there for me and loved me through some of my darkest moments

he’s also been right by my side as we laugh so hard we cry and thank our lucky stars we found each other

his laugh is contagious and i can’t help but love him more and more each day

i know it seems like these days all i talk about is blake.

probably because all i ever talk about these days is well, blake.

this little girl has me and her dad wrapped around her chubby slobbery finger and we love it.

everyday we wake up to her big smile and it seems she’s grown a little more.

five months ago today they were yanking her out of me and today she is laughing, sitting up, trying to crawl, and eating big girl food.

she loves evening walks, baths, sweet potatoes, and apple juice.

she sleeps through the night, is getting better with strangers, and loves to stand up and play in her saucer.

at the moment she is screaming on the monitor because i just laid her down for a nap, but generally she is super smiley.

happy five months blakey boo, we love you.

yesterday i was dragging my baby in her car seat along with a ginourmous diaper bag through the Target parking lot when it was 115 degrees outside {literally 115, i live in desert hell}

this is no big deal.

we do that trip at least twice a week.

the challenge hit us while i was standing in line with items i needed, rubbing numbing gel on blake’s swollen drooly gums
i realized my wallet was still in my volcano heated car.

----deep breath---

as i dragged my sweating fanny and crying child in her car seat back outside to get my wallet i realized two things

1: my right arm has GOT to be getting buffer than my left

2: being a mom is not for the faint of heart

remember when i used to think i worrying about carrying my keys and debit card in my back pocket was a hassle and running errands alone was so hard?

ha.

if you’re a mom

give yourself a big pat on the back and then treat yourself to whatever it is you like.

for me it will be a large Sonic diet coke easy vanilla and lemon.

we are wolves ladies, carry on and raise those cubs!

two nights ago we took Blake to the neighborhood pool for her very first dip!

we thought she would be too tiny to go to the pool this summer but we got brave and took her out

plus, we couldn’t pass up putting her in a tiny swimsuit and gnawing on her thighs

she loved it, thankfully the water was like bath temperature

i guess living in the hottest place ever is good for something

welp, it happened.

miss blake michelle love puff hit three months.

wah wah wah.

we are so thrilled that she is turning into a big happy rollie pollie lover face

however.

she is just getting too big too fast, i know i say it all the time but it’s true!

so here are the three month stats

she has started to give us huge smiles, especially first thing in the morning and after naps

she has become a very cute drooler face, all over both hands which are in her toothless mouth 99.9 percent of the day

she has recently taken to blowing spit bubbles, usually when she is zoning out after a long hard day

she is sleeping through the night pretty much nightly

she is a very good girl and goes to bed at 8 every night all by herself

she is a pro at the bumbo, she sits up so so well

she’s pretty quiet, dosen’t talk much except for the occasional 3 in the morning feeding, shell wake us up with her girly babble

miss puff LOVES the t.v. {don’t worry we watch educational stuff}

this week she learned how to grab, yay for hand skills

no yay for pulling my hair

it’s been an awesome three months to say the least.

i’ve never been so happy and i’ve never cried so much.

we still can’t believe she is here but can’t imagine our lives without her.

thanks puff, for being so darn awesome.

we love your little guts.

i know i know.
harry potter, harry shmotter.
it’s been blogged about, tweeted, facedbooked, and broad casted.
this will be my last shout out {unless more cool harry potter stuff comes up} about my man harry

i remember being in the sixth grade when my mom brought home the paperback copy of harry potter and insisted that we read it together. for years my older brother and i would pile on my mothers bed and she would read to us. i’m assuming since i was 11, brad was 13 and way too cool to read with his mom anymore so this was mom’s last attempt to read with her daughter before i turned into a crusty teen.
after the first chapter i was sucked in, i wanted to learn more about the boy who lived.
mom finished the first book with me.
after that i got my hands on the second one and couldn’t wait for her to read with me at night. i finished within a few days and left her in the dust. as soon as we could pre-order the books online we did, i remember being so so giddy one summer when the prisoner of azkaban was delivered to my front door!
when the first movie came out my crafty mom made me a purple and blue metallic cape that would put any hogwarts student to shame!
this year i saw the movie with bryce {in 3D, of course}
as soon as movie started i got flash backs to years and years of opening nights, midnight book releases in borders bookstores, oh and the very cool harry potter club my friends and i created in high school.
{i was also thinking what a dork i was, but guess what it’s cool now so nbd}
the movie was amazing, almost as amazing as the book. but i will say i am so bummed to see then end of the harry potter era. hopefully one day i can read them to blake and introduce her to the magic.
goodbye harry, thanks for being there for me the past 11 years it’s been real.

every morning around five I peel myself out of bed, drag my feet into the next room and am greeted by this face.

smiley, bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to play.

even though she just saw me a few hours ago, her eyes get huge and she starts kicking like crazy as if it’s been ages.

it never gets old.

she gets a kick out of me eating her cheeks, feet and hands.

i could live on blake body parts forever, they are just so yummy.

this week she has mastered the bumbo, rolling over, and holding her head up.

it’s all good and dandy but that means she’s growing up.

i don’t like that, not one bit.

my baby can’t be 3 months yet, i just won’t let her.

i guess i had a baby and got busy or something.

here i am six weeks later, hanging out on the couch listening to some good ol jack johnson, hanging out with my little lady friend Blake.

My heart is so full this mothers day for reasons I could list for days.

{Also because i’m a zillion times more emotional because I had a baby a few days ago and i’m pretty much a walking horomone}

A week and a half ago Bryce and I welcomed Blake into the world and suddenly crossed over to the other side becoming Mom and Dad. I can’t put into words the amounts of love spilling all over this sweet little girl we didn’t know we were capable of.

My Mom was able to be there for the c-section, through the whole thing she held my hand (while Bryce video taped) and re-assured me that everything was going to be ok. When they placed her in my arms, Mom was there to help hold her up becasue I was so drugged and weak. As a grown adult, about to have a child of my own I was still comforted by my own mother.

She is and always will be a stregth and rock in my life, i’m so grateful for her and her example she constantly is to me.

She has set the bar so high and I hope one day Blake will feel the same amount of love for me as I do for my mother.

Love ya Fancy Nancy, and no I love YOU more :)

Bryce and I were talking yesterday before our annual Sunday nap, it almost feels like the last week of high school or something. i guess i am, the little clothes have been washed and put in drawers, the crib is up, the showers have been had, i've been clipping diaper coupons and stocking up, and my ankles are swollen so i guess i'm as ready as i'll ever be!

in the mean time i've been getting a little crafty with my round self.

This weekend my lovely sistas in the desert threw me a fabulous baby shower. It was so fun to spend time with family and friends and talk babies!! After all the amazing mexican food, cupcakes, chocolate dipped strawberries, and cake I am definitely dreading stepping on the cursed scale at my Dr. appointment today....it's all for the baby right?!

I am one lucky and blessed lady, thanks Sabrina, Linda and Summer for the wonderful shower. Miss Blake has the coolest and most beautiful Aunts in the whole wide world!

I was a little nervous at first, but now i'm loving the dark grey! To all my fellow dark grey considering painters out there, DO IT!

We even used the leftover paint for the stripy living room, which is still undergoing some work.

Safety snacks

When we were kids if we got in trouble we would usually get sent to our rooms.

I guess my brothers were worried they would be stuck there so long that they would waste away from starvation, this is why they created "safety snacks". This was a box stashed away under their bed so Mom wouldn't find (like she would have cared) snacks like granola bars, capri-suns, and various candies.

As I was cleaning out my purse today I laughed at myself thinking about all the safety snacks that had accumulated in the bottom of my bag amongst the old receipts, gum wrappers, and grit.

Seriously why would anyone need this much food with them at all times?

Here we have:

A tangerine {I put that in there about 4 days ago}

Fruit Leather {been there for at least two weeks}

A bag of chile limon almonds {My Mom gave those to me when we were in Utah last weekend}

Rasins{Three weeks}

Three bags of Southwest peanuts{because one bag isn't enough, oink.}

Gold fishies and raisins {Put those in there yesterday, best church snack ever}

Needless to say if you were stranded on a desert island, you would defiantly want me and my stash of snacks on your team.

I'm not going to lie to you, being a "ginger" as my dear friends like to call me isn't all it's cracked up to be. I get sun burned during long car rides, every morning I have to paint on my eyebrows and eye lashes, there's always the famous "kick a ginger day" jokes, if I wear pink or red I will without fail, resemble a valentines cupcake gone terribly wrong, and at least once a day when Bryce see's a fellow red head in public he likes to elbow me and say "HEY!!! I didn't know your brother/sister was here!!!". Although almost daily Bryce tells me he hopes our daughter is a red head, I hope for her sake she is blessed with blonde or brown hair and pigmented skin.

Being the red head that I am, i'm limited to a few select colors that "they" say goes with my ruddy skin, orange hair, and green eyes.

If I wasn't so lazy I would go upstairs and take a picture of my color segregated closet and prove that 90% of my entire wardrobe is green, my bedroom is green, my previous car was green, my kitchen soap is green, the hummus I just ate was green, and the pajama shirt I am currently sporting is, you guessed it..

GREEN!

My tribute to good ol St. Patty today is a small list of a few of my favorite greens.

Thank you green, for always complimenting my sometimes difficult features and always making me look good. You are, and always will be my favorite color.

After many requests to start posting pictures of the house i've finally taken a few pictures to record some of the progress.

Mr. Bryce has been a very busy bee at has turned out to be quite the handy man!

With the help of my brother he did all of the crown molding, painting, and bead boarding in our master bedroom. I'm gonna start calling you Tim the Tool Man Taylor!

I don't know why this one makes the wall look super Shrek green, the first two pictures are more true to the real wall color.

Not only are you super manly and handy around the house, you are adorable.

Dear Miss Blake,

You don't know me yet but I know you and every day i'm falling more in love.

I remember when you were just six weeks old you had the strongest most perfect heartbeat I had ever seen. I felt you nudge me for the very first time on Thanksgiving morning. You like to kick and roll especially after i've eaten peanut butter or tangerines. You get the hiccups about fifty times a day, and you must be a good sleeper because

you have never woken me up in the night from squirming.

On top of all those things I know about you now I know one more thing that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy every time I think of you all curled up inside me.

You are one big smily pants just like your Dad.

So I delegated the job to Bryce to get an outfit for our baby girl to come home in.

This is what he chose.

We will be bringing home a baby giraffe, complete with ears and a tail.

Not enough hours in the day

The past few days have been different. Becca left the other day to spend a few days in Fresno before her baby shower this week and I thought to myself what shall I do while Becca is gone? Since we don't have cable, or a tv in our living room for that matter I thought to myself, "I'll make a list of projects to do around the house." After a few late nights of trying to cram the list in before I go pick her up tomorrow I find myself lying here in bed, approaching 3 am, exhausted and the list still taunts me.

We decided to paint different shade strips on the wall in our living room. Don't get me wrong I love the way that it turned out but it was one of the most tedious things I've ever done. And I've done some pretty tedious things, ask Becca! So needless to say I just finished late tonight but I must say I love it! I love doing little projects around the house making it our own little sanctuary from the world. Can't wait to go pick up Becca tomorrow and feel the little baby nudges coming from her Belly :) I can't figure out how to upload pictures on here from my phone so I'll post a pix tomorrow of the semi-finished product. Hopefully I can sleep and I don't have nightmares about the list!!

If anyone is thinking about painting stripes....don't do it :)

This weekend we attended our first "Sweethearts Ball". Earlier that day my sister in law Linda and I went and dropped a pretty penny at the thrift store on these snazzy outfits. {by the way, trying on old prom dresses with a 7 month belly can be a challenge, Linda may or may not have had to physically remove me from a dress I had squeezed myself into at one point}

It was so fun, as we walked in the door at the dance the photographer looked us up and down and said in a not so convincing voice "wow, you are making all of us look bad" we know, photographer, we know....

After we got our couples photos we went to dinner and ice cream, the looks we received were priceless.

Although the smell of Bryce's rad sweater, not so priceless.

He had me wash it before he would put it on and I think the heat and water magnified the stench 100 fold.

Terrible.

So I decided to invest in a pair of Reebok Easy Tone shoes. My mother always told me I was a sucker for gimmicks. She is probably right.

I figure since i'm gaining weight and getting a belly, I might as well have killer legs right?

Every now and then we like to have what we call a "Bryce and Becca's day of fun."

When we were first married it was a day full of events starting with going to breakfast somewhere, a movie, the dog park, the mall, bowling, the zoo, a diamondbacks game or some activity we planned out.

As of late we have been so busy moving in, traveling, doing house projects, growing babies and such that we haven't had a chance to have a "B&BDOF"

Well yesterday when we got home from church before Bryce headed upstairs to do some more work on the bedroom I stopped him and said "hey, can we just have a B&BDOF?" He thought about it and said "Can I just clean up the house a little bit first?" hahaha! Really? Who's husband asks permission to clean before they can relax? Mine, bless his tidy heart.

So after I swept, unloaded the dishwasher, dusted the house, and Bryce put away Christmas boxes, vacuumed, and drug the Christmas tree to the garage. We proceeded to bust out the Netflix and watch the classic Best in Show, eat popcorn, drink Diet Sierra Mist and then watch about 4 episodes of The Office. Let's just say there were definitely butt imprints on the couch when we finally got up later.

Ahhhh....nothing like rotting in front of the tube on a Sunday night.

It dosen't matter that we do whether it's cleaning, or vedging, as long as were doing it together.

I love B&BDOF.

Slowly but surely we are getting settled and loving the new digs. {Yes I will post before and after pictures very very soon}We had a wonderful holiday filled with family visiting, going to visit family, old friends, lots of eating, laughing, and surprisingly....snow!

The other night I was foolish enough to ask Bryce if it was even worth it go get a tree amongst all the chaos...bad idea. The man looked at me like I had just slapped him in the face and said. Because moving wasn't crazy enough for us, the same night we shipped all of our belongings we shipped ourselves on a plane to vegas!

Brittany and Dustin and Ashlie and Mike graced us with their presence for a few days as we visited :

Today i'm packing our bags and taking down pictures as we get ready to move once again.

Tomorrow the moving company will come to take all our things back to Arizona where they were seven months ago.

So yesterday I went into the doctors office to get my first trimester testing done.

I get to the lab, figured they would take some blood and call it good. No, no Asian guy with the needle takes one look at my arms (arms that have NO visible veins) and starts laughing as he starts pulling out the viles he needs to fill.

Not one, not two, not five, but EIGHT. Awesome. So he gives my first arm a shot, fills one vile and then it goes dry, he dug a little more and then gave up. So he goes and grabs his buddy who gives it a whirl in my dry, bony, hand annnd...nothing. So then after apologizing they go and grab this lady who puts hot packs all over my arm and finally proceeds to stick that sucker in me fill the seven other viles. As I walk out of the hospital with three bright green bandages on my arm the cute white haired little information lady behind the counter shouted "oooh they sure got you today!" haha.

It's not that big of a deal i'm used to getting stuck with needles but I thought it was funny. Bryce gives me a shot of blood thinners in my stomach every night before bed so yesterday I crossed paths with four different needles. Hopefully we don't ever beat that record!

Minus the pricking and prodding, everything is going so great! I'm almost 13 weeks and still feeling good. Tired and sometimes gaggy before bed but the rest of the time I feel very lucky and blessed to feel awesome! We are getting so excited for this new addition to our family and thank Heavenly Father every night for this miracle he has given us.

Orange, Water.

So last week I sent Bryce a text with a few grocery items that he was going to pick up on his way home. I'm a lazy texter and didn't use any punctuation. The last two things on the list were orange and water. Orange for peeling and eating and water because we were all out. Bryce tired his best to complete the order to the best of his abilities and came home with a bottle of orangewater.

I didn't even know they made that. He laughed and just thought I wanted orangewater as some sort of freaky craving. Bless his heart, I wonder what he would have brought home if I text that I wanted beef water or something....

For a fun Halloween party this year Bryce and I decided to get crazy and be Robin and Poison Ivy. I don't know much about Poison Ivy except Bryce tells me she's a villain, she's hot and Robin has a crush on her.

I'm almost three months and feeling great! We are so giddy and excited and still can't believe this is really happening, once in a while I like to turn to Bryce and say "hey, I got a baby in me..."

As long as I have food in my belly and get to take a nap or two i'm good as gold.

We had our ultra sound today and got to see the little bean moving around and it's cute little heart thumping away like a champ!

We are thrilled and feel so blessed and grateful for this little miracle Heavenly Father has given us.

Now lets start hearing some guesses on wether it's a Mr. or a little Miss!

So the cats pretty much out of the bag, we are moving BACK to Arizona!

Readers Digest version: The people in Arizona hate work life without Bryce and will pretty much kill to get him back. We won't lie, it's nice to feel needed. Come November we will make the trek across the desert back to sweet home Arizona.

There are pro's and con's to both places we have lived. We are very grateful and blessed to have such a great job and a company that takes care of their guys. We will however, miss making quick trips to Fresno to play with these guys...

Three years

Yesterday was our three year anniversary.

I can honestly say that the past three years have been the happiest of my life.

Not that they were perfect but they were spent with my best friend and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

Bryce came home with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and season one of Modern Family, then we went to Flemings steak house for a super good, calorie dripping, awesome meal! We had lobster, steak, the famous Flemings macaroni and cheese, a yummy cranberry pecan salad and a dark chocolate lava cake with raspberries!
Soooo good, I may or may not have had to unbutton my pants at the end...

Ok so i've been a total slacker.

Sorry!

The past few weeks have been quite crazy, good crazy but none the less, CRAZY.

Let us start with our week long trip to Arizona, it was nice to see family, not so nice to pop, sizzle, and crisp. Bryce had work to do so while he worked I played and did hair. (That's working right?)

Immediately after AZ we picked up some of our favorite people Dave and Mel up from SF airport and they hung out with us for the weekend. It went by too fast and it was so fun. We stayed up too late watching movies and Modern Family, went to Santa Cruz, and ate some seriously good food.

Just a few days later we flew (and by flew I mean drove fast) to Fresno for a surprise birthday visit to my best friend and sister Shelly! We came in late Wed, stayed up painting and plotting for the make over of her bedroom. My Mom and I had been scheming for weeks in advance. Thursday was the bedroom makeover! It was so fun surprising her! Just hours later we had to rush back home so Bryce could make it to work on Friday and then come home to get ready for our ward campout!

Did I mention we planned a ward campout? Yes we are the activities committee, Bryce and I.

It was a great turn out and we cooked a stupendous breakfast if I do say so myself. But after camping, surprising, traveling, not sleeping, and having so much fun.

We. Are. Tired.

This summer one of the girls from camp floored me with her unstoppable confidence and love in the girls around her. She refused to point out their mistakes and annoying habits and insisted on complimenting everyone she crossed or just closing her mouth when other girls began to gossip. By the end of the week I noticed if I needed a pick me up I would go sit next to her. Her happy energy and positive outlook was like sunshine. I made a little note in my head that I really should try to be better.

The past few months i've been trying harder to see the good in people instead

of focusing on the not so good. After a while it's become a habit, let me tell you it is so refreshing.

I'm no pro at it, but when I think of my shortcomings and imperfections I would hope a stranger or a friend would give me a chance before judging me based on my flaws.

Try it, it's good for you, that's all.

We just pulled into town after a great weekend in Fresno. We really are

beginning to get spoiled seeing friends and family so much. During the ride home we started having our "one day" talk, Bryce and I can't wait til one day when we're old and retired and can get away with sleeping in and spending all day together. We are however looking forward to

the future and enjoying life now, we just can't wait to be that cute old couple

you see in the grocery store or at the park. You know the kind i'm talking about.

So the guest room is finally finished!

Bryce sanded down the dresser and put the primer down and I spray painted it with a creamy crackle paint.

I found those super cute handles online at Anthropology for like 2 bucks. Cute and cheap!

I'm debating wether I should sell the wall paintings on Etsy, I might just like them too much to say goodbye.

Please accept my deepest apologies for the blog neglect,

I have been very busy having ridiculous amounts of fun with three of my greatest friends.

Somehow I scored and ended up with all of them at our house for the week. It's amazing what being surrounded by close friends who know and love you can do for your spirits! It's been so fun and I love those girls like Bryce loves candy and Saved By the Bell.

p.s. I finally got a job at a salon called Halo. I'm so excited to start and feel very blessed to get workin again! Last week I was able to throw a little baby shower for my friend Brittany and her little bundle of joy Miss Mallory Ava.

It was so fun making everything frilly and girly. (Of course my Momma helped arrange everything ever so perfectly) Baby's are all sweet and precious, but little girls are just more fun to dress up and shop for! I don't have kids but somehow every time i'm at Target I find myself perusing through the baby section finding my weekly favorites!

It was so fun, we are so grateful they were able to adopt sweet Mallory.

I am blogging from our old stomping grounds in Arizona.

The bugs are chirping outside (I hope they are outside) and my hair is starting to curl, but guess what....

It's good to be back, as soon as we rolled into town we stopped to see the Buckeye crew and their cute kids then we rolled a little further into town and went to dinner with Bryce's Mom and Dad and it was great to catch up and be together like old times.

We forgot how much we enjoyed the open freeways and big street signs. The summer monsoons really are beautiful, in their own desertie way...

Last weekend we hopped in the car and drove to Gilroy for the annual Garlic Festival!

Apparently everyone else in Northern California did the same thing. The normal 20 minute drive turned into an hour and a half crawl. We filled the time by belting out to our favorite Glee tunes and day dreaming about our future. It's one of our favorite things to talk about.

We left the festival satisfied with our garlic breath and the stupendous people watching we were able to do!

Garlic Fries, we also had a garlic egg roll, garlic teriyaki chicken and garlic shrimp! This is me after about an hour sitting in car, I look very perky I know...

Summer has been kind to us this year. We have enjoyed several visits from awesome friends and family!

(Also I might throw in once again, that I got the chills from a crisp breeze wilts sitting outside at lunch today, I know I know I like to rub it in)

This weekend we made a day trip with the Crowley's to Santa Cruz to get a few extra spots (as Gina likes to call them). The beach was perfect and life is always better when there are funny, cute, kids involved.

Every morning we would get a wake up call from Emery followed by a request to paint her nails and put on her pretties. It just goes to show that when you are two life is good, as long as there are plenty of fruit snacks, and the "dee" (blankie) is close by.

In a few weeks we will be making a trip back to the land of the heat and the home of the cacti. I must say I don't miss immediately sweating off my makeup and wiping sweat from the crease in my elbow, but I do miss Arizona...

I must say it is good to be back! I came home to Bryce and the world is right again! My feet are almost all the way clean and I slept in my own bed last night. I have been hesitating to open my duffle bag in fear that some creature might crawl out of it. There were no bears (anyone who knows me knows bears are a big fear of mine) but there was one rattlesnake (that we did kill, skin, and eat) one fat scorpion, a fox, a mouse, and countless mosquitoes.

Overall camp was a blast, the girls are incredible and have taught me more than they will ever know. I hope they will remember the spirit that was felt this week and will understand how special they truly are.

This week Becca has been kickin' it with the young women at camp. Becca's mom was called to be the camp director this year and she asked Becca to help out with certification, whatever that is. When the opportunity presented itself we were living with my parent's house and she was unemployed so she jumped all over that chance to help out. Fast forward a few months.....she's at camp and I'm bored out of my mind.

Needless to say, I've been trying to keep myself busy by...

1. Attempting to hang curtains. There are two windows right next to each other where the YELLOW street lights shine right through during the night and the bright CA sun shines through around 5:00 am every morning.

2. Finishing setting up the guest room. We have some good friends coming next week to visit so we needed to have the good comfy bed set up. We'll get my clothes cleared off before they come. I hope they enjoy it.

3. Sanding and staining an old dresser. We inherited my old dresser from growing up. Imagine the condition of an old dresser after passing through 3 teenage boys for about 5-7 years. Do you have a good idea? Needless to say it's time for a revamp.

4. Law and Order. Since Becca absolutely hates Law and Order, I have to get my fix in. Haha.

5. Imagining and fantisizing. Becca finds it odd, which maybe everyone else does as well, that I enjoy researching and fantasizing about new cars. Not sure why I do it or what motivates it but it's something I love to do and Becca thinks it's a waste of time. I guess I can agree with that haha. So needless to say I went and hassled a sales rep at the VW dealership and test drove a 2010 Jetta TDI. It was pretty awesome.

6. Great America. My brother and SIL, aka Becca's BFF, are visiting and going to Discovery Kingdom in Santa Clara. I'm going to play hookie tomorrow and go play with them.

Come Saturday I get to go pick up Becca from camp!!! For those of you who know me I don't necessarily function properly without Becca right by my side. Everyday I wonder how in the world I got so lucky to get her and I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. She's awesome and love her to pieces :) Now, she just needs to call me tonight so I can go to bed.

Can you believe it's already July?? What happened to June?

Bryce and I are still trying to wrap out heads around the fact that we have been living here over a month now. It's crazy that we are in the middle of summer and by nightfall we are looking for our sweaters to beat the evening chill! This is like an Arizona winter! I could definitely get use to this...

Today is my last day to prepare for girls camp, tomorrow we are going to the beach to try and get a tan (well, I will settle for a few more freckles let's be real here) and then head on to Fresno for the 4th. For the next week i'll be campin it up with the ladies of the Fresno Stake yay! I'm sure Bryce won't deny some phone calls in my absence, something tells me he will plant himself on the couch watching Law and Order eating candy and diet coke while i'm gone...

We were super excited for our 3D experience! The glasses were pretty sweet as you can see.

Mondays are always great to me, it's the beginning of a new week with so much time and to get things accomplished. It took me a while to fall asleep last night because I couldn't stop making mental lists of things I need to do this week.

Then I realize this is the time people go to the lake and relax in the warmth, last week I met my best friend In San Fransico. It took me about thirty dangerously close minutes to get there. We ate clam chowder, walked the pier, danced with some little girls, took some pictures, and best of all

people watched.

We just got back from our cousin Aubrey's (who is absolutely adorable)wedding , it was such a happy day.

Not to mention I got to do the hair and makeup which is icing on the cake!...no pun intended.

There's just something about being with family and sharing that love for one another that makes you feel renewed and re energized after time apart.

I love my family. I hope they love me too because they are stuck with me forever.

There's no place like home

We are here. Now we are making "here" a home.

The past few days seem like one big messy, painty, heavy, blur.

Thanks to my sister and husband the place is starting to take shape and we love it.

After two dumps to the Salvation Army, two trips to Costco, and two trips to IKEA we are making some solid progress people.

Somehow we managed to spend 200 dollars on groceries but all we could scrounge up to eat was peanut butter and banana sandwiches for dinner tonight?

So Bryce packed the camera cord thingie.

Which = no new pictures til we move.

I would be upset but he was just being a good little worker and got carried away with the packing of the things, besides who can get angry at someone with a face like this?

Answer: you can't.

Really people, he's got me wrapped around his finger.

And i'm ok with that.

Instead of uploading some sweet photos i'll go back to watching my Saturday Night Live and listening to the "Camera Cord Thingie packer guy" huff and puff wilts doing his pull ups.

When the new pic's come in we will be settled hopefully in California! Yes it is really happening.

It's been a while since i've posted actual pictures of us so in case people were starting to forget what we looked like here we are!

This is my cute Bryce in Camarillo, we had a blast visiting them and playing games all night with Shelly.

- He borrowed Grandpas awesome Taco Bell hat to wear to the beach.-

This is before we went to check out the first house on the list of like a billion places we were looking at on Friday. As you can see Bryce was ready to be amazed (which it's not hard for him to do), I on the other hand was no so sure. But alas we DID find a place and it is perfect for us! More post and pictures to come about that!

Also as a side note, I had a near death experience the other day.
I was minding my own business and this fellow fell out of a pile of stuff I was picking up, proceeded to charge my bare feet, and tried to take my life. This is no exaggeration.
Anyone who knows me knows that I do not ever exaggerate.

Anyway

I went and got one of the many cats that parade around this place, pretending like they are tough and can take care of these type of vermin.

I set the cat smack dab in front of the scorpion and she proceeded to do absolutely nothing. The cat looked even more bored than she was before I woke her up from her nap to come save me.

Needless to say I barley escaped with my life that day. I think it's just yet another sign it's time to move to a place where my toes can be at peace.

No this isn't a joke but you can laugh it up all you want, these babies are incredible.

Not to mention totally legit.

We just got back from the bay area looking for a place to live (which we found and love) and after a day of driving, flying, dropping my plane ticket in the toilet, and swollen tootsies from flying, these are like little blue slices of heaven.

It's been a long day and a super fun weekend. We were sorry to leave family so soon, but well be back. No worries.

Lets just start with: I am slightly addicted to Sprinkles cupcakes.

I say slightly because I don't go enough to be a regular Sprinkles customer, but if it was up to the fat girl inside me I would be there weekly.

This week I can go without a tinge of guilt because on Thursday it's Earth Day! (didn't you know calories don't count on Earths big day??) Only on Earth day can you go into Sprinkles, purchase one of these little delights and know that all the proceeds go to local tree planting!

YAY!

I would practically feel guilty if I didn't eat one!

Lets all do our part people, eat a cupcake, do it for Earth.

Yesterday I received some of the best news I could possibly get.

The CT scan of my lugs came back clear.

To Bryce and I this means so much more than pills, tests, doctors and fear.

Looking back on the last year it has been the prayers love and support from all of you that has kept my usually sometimes grumpy chin up.

I live in the a place where there are 211 days of sun. I am constantly reminded of this when I try and count all the freckles on my arms.

I always lose count, one time during class in high school I even marked with a ball point pen which ones I had already counted and I still lost track!

I'm ready for flip flops, swimming, sunscreen (which I have now started wearing year round, thank you anti-aging breakthroughs) beach towels, bright colors, bbq's, and most of all CALIFORNIA !

5 weeks and were outta here.

(but we'll be back, don't fret.)

My awesome brother Brad and his sweet connections got us into fashion week.

Actually his sweet connections got us to the door and when they told us our names weren't

on the list I snuck us in by hiding behind some ginormous giraffe sized models.

Guess were just cool like that.

Aside from the amazing pizza we ate literally everyday and being with some of my truest friends, this was definitely one of the most memorable things from my visit.

So here's how the cupcake making went for the first time. We mixed, we measured, we baked, we ate.

Way. too. much.

(I didn't think it was possible)

They were incredible and if you want i'll e-mail you the recipe. Strawberry butter cream and red velvet cream cheese. I'm warning you now, this is not for the faint of butter heart.

Next time Summer and I will need to pace ourselves so we can get optimum consumption over a longer amount of time.

So we have this red couch. It has been used maybe 6 times. Ever. The house we previously lived in had some freaky turn ("pivot, pivot!!!"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJYH4lO6Bug )that wouldn't allow it to go up to our living room. So instead we just had a super nice and tiny entry with a red couch filling up the whole space.

Now that we will be moving by May 15. Which is an exact date of departure, yay! I will have this new fresh canvas of a living room for the decorating to work with but I will also have this red couch.

What to do? What to do?

Peeper Piper Pizza

Yesterday after work I came home to some of my favorite people playing in that back yard.

Bryce (duh) Anna (my niece) Dane (nephew) and Owen (nephew), You know they are fun kids when they have candy smudged on their faces, more bruised on their shins than i have freckles, a little sweat on their brow, and a stuffed killer whale that is the size of Texas.

After eight hours of running around talking to grown ups about boring things like the weather, the economy, their gray hair and their health problems, these kids are like a breath of fresh air. I was greeted with the most genuine

big girl hug from Anna, who is getting way too big by the way, and then immediately called over by the boys to see some of their sweet trampoline/jumping on the whale tricks.

The only thing I had to worry about the rest of the night was getting the correct answer to Anna's brain teasers and Dane's jokes. We went to "Peeper Piper Pizza" (as Dane repeatedly pronounced) Owen was content following around any one of us to see if he could get in on arcade fun and occasionally pushing a few buttons here and there, oh to be two...

At the end of the night in the car on the way home after cotton candy and bubblegum ice cream, (everyones tongues were blue including Bryce) Anna and Dane asked us why we don't have some kids of our own since we have so much fun with them? We said we have no idea, they told us they can't wait for us to have kids so they can have some younger nieces and nephews to play with.
